Ulf Buxrud
Yes whisky pairs well with Swedish Meatballs

Determined to prove that Swede’s are capable of appreciating more than just a beautiful country, killer meatballs and stylish affordable home furnishings, Ulf began enjoying single malt whisky’s way before it was fashionable. As an information technologist by day, Ulf soon discovered the network-enhancing benefits of a post-work dram.

Having nurtured his passion for malt whisky for almost 40 years, Ulf is well known (yet still welcomed) in many whisky societies around the world, including Keeper of the Quaich, Malt Maniacs, and is an honorary Board member at several prominent whisky societies.

And while he shrewdly wont attempt to estimate to the actual number of whiskies he has sampled over the years, he freely admits to being personally responsible for dispatching more than a few Centigeddons. For those not well versed in the intricacies of whisky jargon, this mean he has killed more than 100 versions from the same distillery, and has done so on more than one occasion.

Can you say “serial killer”?

When not savoring single malt whiskies while traversing the globe, Ulf maintains one of the most comprehensive resources on the web for information on Scotch whisky. His website has repeatedly been cited for its excellence and depth of information, including being granted the 'Scotsman's Whisky Award' (1998), 'The Winemaker's Vintage Site' award (1997) and the 'Schoolzone's panel of expert teachers' award (2000)

We count ourselves as extremely fortunate that Ulf is part of the leadership of our community, and to have access to his years of knowledge and experience with single malt whisky. We encourage you to visit his website , and join him in our community
