When we set out to create ForScotchLovers.com, getting women involved was a top priority. But considering we're guys in a male dominated world of single malt scotch, we really had no idea how to reach out to women, so to speak.
Then one day (yes it was before 5pm) when we were several drams into supporting Scotland's #1 export at one of our favorite watering holes, two gorgeous women came in the door, approached the bar, and ordered themselves two single malts. Not only were they smokin' hot (think: Robert Palmer video chicks), but they ordered their whisky “neat”.
Hosanna!...we thought we had died and gone to heaven...
We worked up the courage to comment on their choice of spirits, and quickly learned the Scotch Chix are a couple of no sh*^ chix who have a consuming passion for single malt whisky, savory flavors, and the sensuous life (be still, my heart!) They easily convinced us that single malt whisky is an ideal drink for a woman's palate, and told of their efforts these last four years evangelizing this message to women worldwide--by mouth and by example...who were we to argue?
With single malt whisky a passion central to their lives, the Scotch Chix find themselves continuously searching for unique scotch experiences. They seek out single malt whiskies, read about them, cook with them, pair them with food, and select restaurants and bars on the basis of their single malt whisky selections. And of course, they only talk to men who are conversant in single malt whisky, or at least want to learn.
Through their website, The Scotch Chix regale their readers with their adventures, their discoveries, and of course their quite passionate opinions on whisky, foods, and life on Single Malt Lane.
As members of ForScotchLover's, they hope to share some of these opinions with the community. Their regular blog entries, The Scotch Chix Hot Pix, will review drinking establishments, restaurants, books, recipes, single malt whisky, and accouterments that celebrate the single malt whisky world.
We haven't told our “significant others” about the Scotch Chix, and bet you won't either. We're always eager to read their latest blog posts, hear what the Chix are tasting and where they are going. We urge you to check out their blog, and join them our in our community.
