Sam Simmons is a proud son of Canada son currently calling the UK home. There he spends his days (and much of his nights) actively engaged in whisky education in various capacities.

Sam initially fell victim to the whisky bug 5 years ago while living in Edinburgh (the city that fell victim to the Black Plague twice). When he wasn't studying towards his Ph.D in literature, Dr. Whisky worked in a few whisky shops, and had the pleasure of sitting on the Tasting Panel of the Scotch Malt Whisky Society (the panel never forgave him).

At one time Sam was also known as a member (infrequently standing) of the University of Edinburgh's Water of Life Society as both Poet Laureate and its President. Sam is currently living in London, where he is often found working with The Whisky Exchange, and has been a long-time Ambassador for the Scotch Malt Whisky Society.

While no stranger to the pubs of London and Edinburgh, Sam is best known around the world by his blogger nom de plume, Dr. Whisky and for his incomparable blog.

We're feeling really good, thank you very much, to have Dr Whisky contributing to the health of our community. We urge you to visit the Good Doctors blog, take two drams of your medicine, and call on him in the morning here in our community.
